Three years ago, Arai began a collaboration with Harley Davidson within the Asian market and it is with great pride that Arai now introduces the XD, a helmet developed from the desire for a full-face helmet that would match cruiser motorcycles such as a Harley Davidson or the XDiavel, complementing the riders’ unique style. The lines of the chin area were sculpted to convey a strong and unique look, and you can imagine the chiselled face of a rugby player or a martial arts master in top form.

Improved Glance Off Ability
The VAS pivot cover is now smaller and lower than the previous design, yielding an average of 24mm more area above the cover. The shell is now smoother along the Snell test line in the temple area, thus increasing the helmet's ability to glance off objects during an impact.
Compared with the shell of the Rapide-IR, the smooth area around the temple is increased by an average of 24mm on the new VAS model. Having a rounder, smoother shell over a larger area increases the ability of a helmet to glance off objects more easily.
PB-cLc Special Fibre Laminate Strict quality controlled construction using special fibre layers, crowded with fibres right to the shell surfaces and bonded with special resins formulated by Arai, to disperse impact energy over the widest possible area – the shell’s main job – through strength, structural integrity and impact flexibility.
Hard Outer Shell, Soft Inner Shell
Arai uses a very hard outer shell to spread impact forces and a soft inner shell to absorb remaining energy. The multiple-density EPS inner shell is made using a unique technology of combining three to five densities in various areas as a single component.
The four front intake slots, combined with the four side exhaust slots create a highly effective internal air flow, providing excellent ventilation, making it very comfortable. The key to this high performance are the side ducts that remove hot air from the inside, which are connected directly to the interior via high performance air channels. These are hidden behind the cheek pads, connect the two side exhaust slots to the interior and pull air out of the helmet with incredible efficiency.
Rear Ventilation: Neck Exhaust Vent
To enhance hot-air extraction from the interior. Increases the ventilation effect at the lower part of the helmet.
Ventilation: Free Flow System (FFS)
Creates airflow under the helmet that reduces wind noise and turbulence while increasing the exhaust of hot air.
Build in communication systems are popular, but the problem is often that the room for a speaker is limited or just not present, causing unpleasant pressure points. The speaker pockets, offering room for mounting speakers without effecting comfort or fit. (Speaker not included).
